Working Together: Order Your Plush Toy

Pet Sitting and Taxi Service

FROM THE DIRECTOR

Every since I can remember ( around the age 2 or 3) my best friends have been animals. These friends have included, cats, dogs, a jack rabbit, hamsters, cows, pigs, a mule, fish and I even carried on conversations with a bull (several times).  I have never felt fear towards any animal, as a matter of fact, animals seem to gravitate my way.  I remember finding an injured bumblebee.  I made a little cage for him and placed grass, flowers and water in it.  I planned on nursing him back to health. I was devastated when he died (within two days). I gave him a proper funeral and cried as if I had lost a human relative. Now to some, having a pet bee is not so strange, but for me, it could have turned deadly.  I am allergic to bees and 1 sting could have killed me.

The humane treatment of ALL animals has been important to me all of my life.  I wish that I could save them all, but of course, I can’t.  I have, however, chosen to save as many cats as possible.  I do this by providing a loving, safe, healthy and respectful home for cats that have been abandoned, homeless, abused or sick. I am also educating as many people as possible about cats in general and our responsibility to them as a society. And the most important lesson learned is spay or neuter your animals. I also support other animal rescue shelters across the United States.

I do not like to see animals in cages, so our kitty’s have rooms that they live in.  Our rooms resemble rooms in your home.  Hopefully this helps in the adjustment period after a kitty is adopted, but more important. the kitty is much happier living in an open room with toys, climbing post, food, water, litter boxes, etc.  I make sure that ALL of our cats are socialized with humans. No one works or volunteers for me who is not willing to play, groom, talk, hold and spend time with the kitty’s. Bless Their Hearts Kitty Haven also works with feral cat colonies. We trap, have a veterinarian test them for diseases, spay/neuter, vaccinate and we return them to their colony.

There are 60 million feral cats in the United States.  As a citizen, you can help towards reducing this number by your support of organizations that are dedicated to helping feral cats.

I could go on and on about what we as humans should be doing.  I ask that you be humane to ALL animals and help an animal rescue organization.  If you live with an animal, love them, care for them and respect them.  All animals can be a blessing to any and all humans.

Enjoy our site, and May God Bless!!!
